I am Ashley Reagan from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and in addition to making crêpe paper flowers and butterflies, I also make embroidery thread earrings to look like butterfly wings, and I make fairy door shelf sitters from wood slices.

When I’m making paper flowers, I love taking real flowers and dissecting them to figure out how they are made and how I can make them look as close to nature as possible out of paper.

I started making paper flowers as a way to honor my granddad after he passed away because he was an avid gardener and did not pass his green thumb on to me. Paper flowers were my solution.

In 2021, I had the opportunity to work with several other paper florists on assembling a large installation to be displayed at the Greenwood Rising Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Artists from around the world contributed white paper lilies for the installation to honor the victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. It was an honor to work on such a project and to use my art skills in that way.

Ho iniziato a fare fiori di carta come modo per onorare mio nonno dopo la sua scomparsa, perché era un appassionato giardiniere e non mi aveva trasmesso il suo pollice verde. I fiori di carta sono stati la mia soluzione.

Nel 2021 ho avuto l'opportunità di collaborare con altri fioristi di carta alla realizzazione di una grande installazione da esporre al Greenwood Rising Museum di Tulsa, Oklahoma. Artisti di tutto il mondo hanno contribuito con gigli di carta bianca per l'installazione in onore delle vittime del massacro razziale di Tulsa del 1921. È stato un onore lavorare a un progetto del genere e utilizzare le mie capacità artistiche in questo modo.
