Paper Roses Festival 2025: tradition blossoms with the quality of Cartotecnica Rossi

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the heart of Vigardolo, in Monticello Conte Otto (Vicenza, Italy), one of the most anticipated events of spring returns: the Festa delle Rose di Carta (Paper Roses Festival). An event that every year involves hundreds of enthusiasts, curious people, artisans and families, united by the desire to experience a day of beauty, creativity and sharing.
Starting at 10 a.m., more than 120 artisan exhibitors will fill the village streets with their handmade creations. Between music, performances and exhibitions, the festival will offer a unique and engaging experience in which the art of paper will be the absolute protagonist.
But what makes this event truly special is its history. Rediscovered in 2014 thanks to the passion of a group of citizens, the Paper Roses Festival has been able to transform itself into a symbol of the area's identity, enhancing a popular tradition that was in danger of being lost. At one time, in fact, roses were made from simple and not very durable paper, but it was out of this need that something extraordinary was born.
The Filò delle Rose and the meeting with Cartotecnica Rossi
As early as the first editions, the desire to create ever more elegant and durable roses led to the birth of the Filò delle Rose di Carta (Filò of Paper Roses)*, a group of women – the Ladies of the Roses – who, with dedication and imagination, began experimenting with new techniques and materials. The decisive step came with the meeting with Cartotecnica Rossi, whose fine papers made it possible to create paper roses of the highest quality.
This collaboration, anything but accidental, is rooted in the very history of the area: Cartotecnica Rossi, in fact, was founded in 1878, when it was acquired by Alessandro Rossi, a key figure in Vicenza industry and father of Gaetano Rossi, who in turn owned the historic Villa Rossi in Vigardolo.
Paper, culture, and identity: a growing bond
Over the years, Cartotecnica Rossi has been able to renew itself by becoming an international benchmark in the production of fine and specialty papers, including crepe and tissue paper, ideal for the world of crafts and decoration. The same papers that today shape the roses that symbolize the holiday.
Each petal made from Cartotecnica Rossi paper holds a story of innovation, tradition and quality. A synergy that goes beyond the mere supply of materials: it is a true relationship of mutual trust and appreciation, which has allowed the Paper Roses Festival to establish itself as an event of excellence.
A flower that talks about the future
Participating in the Paper Roses Festival also means supporting craftsmanship, rediscovering the value of manual skills and strengthening the link with one's cultural roots. This is why Cartotecnica Rossi is proud to be an integral part of this project, offering not only materials of the highest level, but also a concrete contribution to the spread of the culture of beauty, handmade, and lasting.
Appointment on April 13 in Vigardolo (Italy), to celebrate together the paper that becomes art, the rose that tells a story, and a territory that continues to flourish.
*Doing “filò” means to sit together to do an activity while chatting. It was an ancient custom of peasant women who gathered in the stables to spin and chat.
